Let's Plan A Party! Party planning fun things for corporate events and getting paid! What a life!
Wouldn't it be great to have a home business planning parties and getting paid? Talk about a neat and fun home business to start.
Party planning for the corporate world is where party planners can make a nice income at home.
Party planning really doesn't involve much start up fees or involve you having to provide all the entertainment, food, etc. You are the party planner so your creative mind is what you mainly need to succeed!
You may have ideas on how to have a great corporate party, but may not know anything about providing the entertainment or making the food.
This is where you contract entertainers and caterers to handle the day of the party for you, and you handle the behind the scenes as the planner.
If you happen to be planning for a large party, you will find negotiating with talent agencies as a great possiblity for a super fun party. Having celebrities showing up or performing, would make your party a huge success. If the cost of contracting a talent agency is in your budget and you want to have an awesome party then contacting a talent agency is what you may want to consider.
You may also want to plan a party that is related to a particular theme. This would make of an interesting party. For instance, my company had a Mexican theme. Everything was Mexican, the food, music and entertainment. They even gave away Mexican hats.
To get started, start researching businesses that are involved with parties, such as, caterers, hotels, florists, videographers, equipment rental companies, etc.
You want to do your research and find out how much each business charges for their service. I recommend having material sent to you, including a price list.
Based on the prices from the potential contractors, will determine how much you will charge a company for your party planning services.
A really good idea is to research party planners already doing this business. Check for party planners online and in the yellow pages. You can "shop" party planners, meaning pretend you are a potential customer and get their information packets. You want to see how they run their biz, how much they charge and what they offer.
Every company that provides a service or a product shops their competitors to see what they have. How do you think competing companies do business and come up with prices? They shop their competitors to find out the information.
When you are ready, start compiling a list of potential corporate clients in your area. Call each business getting the person's name that handles party decisions. You want to tell them briefly why you are calling and asking for permission to mail them some information. You will want to send a letter proposing your party planning offer.
This is a home business that would be fun with good income potential.
